The Rabbi’s Circle was established as a collaborative venture between Rabbi Steven Kane and the members of Congregation Sons of Israel. This program enables CSI to host outstanding speakers and events that are at the cutting edge of current social issues, and to engage the community in informed discussions about topics that matter most to Jewish life.

Sunday, November 1st at 4 PM: Linda Gradstein, Jerusalem correspondent for National Public Radio. “Covering Israel: A Journalist’s Perspective – What’s A Nice Jewish Girl Like You Doing In A Place Like This?”. Join us for a talk, followed by Q & A with this veteran reporter. Linda Gradstein has been the Israel correspondent for NPR since 1990. She is a member of the team that received the Overseas Press Club award for her coverage of the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and the team that received Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism for her coverage of the Persian Gulf War.
 
Thursday, December 10th at 7:30 PM: Professor Benji Gampel of Jewish Theological Seminary.  “Muslim Power and Jewish Survival”. Benjamin Gampel is the Dina and Eli Field Family Chair in Jewish History at The Jewish Theological Seminary. He teaches courses in medieval and early modern Jewish history, with a special focus on the medieval Sephardim, and lectures widely on the entire range of Jewish history.

Fri/Sat 2/5 & 2/6 :  Scholars in Residence with Dr. Jonathan Sarna.  "Between Tradition and Change - The Future of Conservative Judaism." (Fri 8 PM), "American Jews and The Ten Commandments: (Shabbat morning D'Var Torah), "George Washington's Letter to the Jews Newport." (Shabbat afternooon, 1 PM). 
 
April 8th at 7:30 PM we welcome Susannah Heschel:  Co-sponsored by St. Theresa's Church in Ossining:  Jesus & Mohammed - In The Eyes of Judaism.  How have Jews, Christians and Muslims changed in their understanding of each other? Susannah, the Chair of Jewish Studies at  Dartmouth an the daughter of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel will survey the past, present and future of inter-faith scholarship.   
 
May 2nd at 4 PM join us to meet Gil Hoffman, Chief Political Correspondent and Analyst for the Jerusalem Post "Current Issues in Israel"  Co-sponsored by NOW Israel.
