Religious Requirements

STUDENTS PREPARING FOR BAR/BAT MITZVAH AT CSI ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND RELIGIOUS SCHOOL FOR 5 YEARS.  Contact Ronishapiro@csibriarcliff.org. for details. 

SERVICE REQUIREMENTS: SHABBAT MORNING SERVICES IN THE MAIN SANCTUARY AS FOLLOWS: Gimel Class - 3 Services, Dalet Class - 10 Services, Heh Class - 18 Services

The service card box is found outside the Sanctuary on the tallit table. Students are asked to arrive no later than 10:15 AM.  Please pull the card with your name on it and place it BEHIND the appropriately labeled tab (i.e. Saturday behind here).  Credit will be entered on the Monday following shabbat.

Here is what counts in Gimel:  Shabbat MORNING, Holiday and Festival Morning services (Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, Pesach or Shavuot) AT CSI.  Here is what doesn't count in Gimel:  Friday nights, High Holiday services, Purim or Evening Holiday/Festival Services.  

Here is what counts in Dalet:  Shabbat morning, 5 Fridays in Dalet & Heh combined, Holiday and Festival services (Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, Pesach or Shavuot). Festival services will count as FRIDAY credits. Purim - come in costume for double credit.  Here is what doesn't count:  High Holidays.
