PRAYER BOOK DONATIONS AND KIDDUSHIM SPONSORSHIP

Congregation Sons of Israel has an ongoing need for new Siddurim and Chumashim. Donations of this type offer you the opportunity to honor the simcha or memory of a relative or friend; a label of dedication is inserted into each book donated. Descriptions and pricing are listed below.

Each Shabbat also offers the opportunity to honor the memory of a deceased loved one or to commemorate a special event (e.g., a birthday or anniversary) with a sponsorship of our weekly Kiddushim. Your name and the name of the person or people in whose memory you are contributing will be announced from the Bimah and listed in the weekly handout on the Saturday of the specified Shabbat.

These contributions may be made online using your Visa or Mastercard or PayPal account.

Etz Hayim: Torah and Commentary ($60/copy)

The first new Torah commentary for Conservative Judaism in over 70 years, Etz Hayim: Torah and Commentary, explores the importance of social justice in Judaism and attempts to ground the Torah historically by ascertaining its meaning to the ancient Israelites. The Chumash also investigates the Jewish legal tradition and its foundations in the Torah; and offers commentary on the haftarah (Torah portions to be read in the synagogue throughout the year).
